The Mission (no pun intended)

CleanMB isn't a nonprofit with a budget and a mission statement on a wall. It's a personal project born out of frustration and pride.

The goal is simple:
Less trash around Mission Bay and more individuals + families enjoying this beautiful area we are lucky enough to call home.

Hi, I'm Phil.

I love San Diego, especially Mission Bay.

One day while walking along the path, I saw a woman with a 5-gallon bucket and a trash grabber. I realized that she was simply picking up trash on her own to make Mission Bay a nicer place.

I was inspired to do the same. So I bought a bucket, some gloves, a trash grabber, and got to work.

You can find me picking up trash between Superbloom Cafe and Fiesta Island, generally on Tuesday mornings.

I hope that it also inspires others to be more mindful and perhaps grab that extra piece of trash that they see along the way.
